What happened:Â The Blue Griffins once again showed they could rally from a deficit as they scored three unanswered goals to overcome a 2-0 Cardinals lead in a 2-1A/3A battle for second place in Las Vegas, N.M. Prep head coach Adelyn Smith said the team has been working on what she called a "sports mindset" to help her team maintain its focus. It has shown in comeback wins over St. Michael's and Robertson this week. "It's a don't give up mentality and staying positive and locked in on the field," Smith said. "It seems to be working."
Top players:Â Marley Belyeu's goal against the Cardinals brought her to a school-best 80th of her career. Harper Rosen had a penalty-kick goal, while Olive Clay capped the scoring for Prep.

What happened:Â How do you recover from letting a late lead against Prep slip through your fingers? For the Lady Horsemen, they rolled past the Lady Braves in a 2-1A/3A match at the SFIS athletic complex. The lead was so larger, goalkeeper Marissa Dominguez got a chance to play in the field and scored her third goal of the season. "We really needed this," St. Michael's head coach Alfonso Camarena said. "Tuesday, we play ATC and that is a super important game."
Top players:Â Sophia Miera had five goals to increase her season total to 22, while also recording three assists. Sophomore Mia Tokoyorama had a pair of goals, while Illiana Sandoval and Chloe Stevens each had a goal.Â

What happened: The Blue Griffins picked the perfect time to put together their best half of the season — in a District 2-1A/3A showdown with the Cardinals for first place at Sun Mountain Field. It started with a 30-yard goal from Adnan Mufleh and didn't end until Prep held a 7-0 lead at the half as it took sole possession of first place. "What has been coming for a while finally happened," Prep coach rick Canby said. "The flood gates opened and goals poured in."
Top players:Â Mufleh had a pair of goals, and both were assisted by Gordon Zang. Weston Stump also had a pair of goals, while William Babcock and Jack Dudzik each had a goal and an assist.Â
