Española Valley suffered its second straight loss Friday night, getting knocked off 27-7 by District 1-4A rival Taos at Anaya Field in Taos.
The Demons are 9-4 on the season and 2-1 in district play after a tough 5-1 loss Wednesday to Albuquerque Eldorado.
·è¿ÍÖ±²¥ Fe High has shown glimpses of how explosive it can be when it plays with high intensity.
Lilliana Roybal had both of the first-half goals and improved her season total to 10.
Stability and consistency are tough to come by when there is a crowd of people calling for the snap.
"We absolutely turned it on the last 20 minutes or so," Eadie said. "When we play like that, we are the best team we can possibly be, but we can also be the best team in the state."
·è¿ÍÖ±²¥ Fe Prep junior Marley Belyeu scored all three of her team’s goals in the Blue Griffins’ come-from-behind 3-2 win over district rival St. Michael’s.
Even senior midfielder Angie Perez admitted she didn't expect the team to make such a big splash.
"I felt like we were in control for most of the match," Prep head coach Rick Canby said. "St. Mike's defense was very impressive and frustrated our midfield."
This isn't your dad's or your grandfather's Sundevils program, one in which opponents walked in more than confident they would walk away with an easy win.
"We made the game simple by keeping the ball on the ground and exploiting the wings," ·è¿ÍÖ±²¥ Fe High head coach Chris Eadie said. "We had three [goals on] headers off of corners."
·è¿ÍÖ±²¥ Fe High (9-3 overall, 2-0 in 2-5A) has had a half-dozen players injured or nursing injuries throughout the season.
The Horsemen held Raton to just 34 yards rushing on 26 attempts.
It came down to a battle of wills after both teams scored touchdowns on their first play of overtime.
It was the Demons’ fourth straight setback but, arguably, their best game of the season despite the result.
The Sundevils, behind their wishbone attack that chewed up 185 rushing yards so far, lead the Bernalillo Spartans 14-7, in a key District 1-4A game Friday.
The undefeated St. Michael's Horsemen are logging some serious travel miles, especially with a trip to Raton on Friday.

The Demons' Cy Anderson and fellow striker Chris Solano connected on the match-opening goal in the 51st minute, then he came through in the 78th minute with another goal to cap a 2-0 win against Capital at Ivan Head Stadium.Â

The back row's passing made life so much easier for setters Nicole Sallee and Desiree Martinez as they combined for 47 assists.
"We finally woke up and started to put pressure on them," Prep head coach Rick Canby said.Â

Rio Grande took the championship in a penalty-kick shootout after a scoreless 100 minutes of soccer, blanking ·è¿ÍÖ±²¥ Fe High 3-0.
"It was a good win as we start [District 2-1A/3A] play," Blue Griffins head coach Rick Canby said.Â
Capital managed to force one turnover late in the game when Fabian Maestas picked off Los Alamos backup quarterback Hayden Watkins in the end zone to prevent the visiting team from invoking the 50-point mercy rule to end the game.
The only time Eunice’s defense held the St. Michael's offense out of the end zone came on the Horsemen’s final drive.
·è¿ÍÖ±²¥ Fe High plays Albuquerque Rio Grande at 9 a.m. Saturday for the Ben Kivitz Invitational title.
Sandia scored on its first four drives and built a 37-0 lead late in the first half before moving on with a 51-6 homecoming win in a District 2-6A matchup.
Cole Sandoval, a senior running back/receiver and one of the Horsemen’s top players, is considering attending Division III’s Hendrix College in Arkansas after he graduates next year.
The way the Storm overwhelmed ·è¿ÍÖ±²¥ Fe High with rock-solid serving and power hitting in the final two games had the visiting team taking a hard look at itself in the post-match huddle.
"We are definitely going to hit the gym [Wednesday] and work on the things we saw today," coach  Joseph Garcia said.
For the Capital Jaguars and ·è¿ÍÖ±²¥ Fe High Demons, this week's prep football games just might be the biggest ones of their season — and not just because they're the next ones.
The Horsemen scored seven unanswered touchdowns and outscored the Chargers 34-0 in the second half en route to a 48-7 win.
"We need to work on finishing," coach Chris Eadie said after ·è¿ÍÖ±²¥ Fe High peppered its crosstown rival with 28 shots but managed just one Alan Deras Perez goal in the opening half of the fifth-place match Saturday.
·è¿ÍÖ±²¥ Fe High's first-year head coach Adam Garcia said the mantra of "keeping their foot on the gas pedal" is making its way into the huddle during play stoppages.
·è¿ÍÖ±²¥ Fe High's defense seemed incapable of adjusting to the Bulldogs' rushing attack as it continually pierced the Demons with runs outside the hashmarks.
The Sundevils (4-0 overall, 1-0 in 1-4A) had to rely on their defense to stymie Grants' last two drives to preserve the win.
Capital's Deaven Montaño led his team to three first-half touchdown drives.
The Jaguars' hustle and strong serving had the team on the cusp of advancing to their third straight tournament semifinal, but their youth and inexperience showed up at the worst time.

"We're just playing as a squad," Horsemen sophomore defensive end Ryan Hunt said. "We got each other's backs, so we play and trust that guy who's next to you."
Now 3-0, the top-ranked and defending state champ is finally whole again.Â
